Jon Overfelt brings more than 26 years of mortgage experience and a unique perspective as both a Loan Officer and Owner/Director of Sales at American Security Mortgage Corp. Serving borrowers across North Carolina, he is known for combining deep industry knowledge, creative financing strategies, and a straightforward approach that helps clients make confident, informed decisions.
Jon specializes in conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo, non-QM, bank statement, DSCR investment property loans, ARMs, home equity loans, HELOCs, and cash-out refinances. He has extensive experience helping self-employed borrowers, real estate investors, high-net-worth clients, first-time homebuyers, and those with unique financial situations find the right mortgage solution.
His philosophy is simple: educate, communicate, and deliver. Jon believes a mortgage is about more than just the interest rate. It’s about understanding options, making smart financial choices, and having a trusted advocate who knows how to get the job done. Outside of the mortgage business, Jon’s favorite thing is spending time with his wife, Shayna, and their two daughters, Lizzie and Hannah. He and his family have called the Lake Norman area home for many years, and he loves everything that comes with living in North Carolina. An avid golfer, Jon also enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He’s a devoted NC State fan who jokes that supporting the Wolfpack has taught him plenty about patience and loyalty. Whether he’s on the golf course, spending time at the lake, or hanging out with his dog, Sheba, Jon appreciates the simple things in life. He believes relationships are what make both life and business rewarding and is grateful for a career that allows him to connect with so many great people along the way.
