My Grandfather
He was born during the great recession, fought in World War II and received a purple heart, and was a prison guard at Alcatraz. One of his sayings was, “Don’t be the hero of your own stories”. With that being his mantra, he never talked about his experiences unless asked. Even though he has passed, I have so many questions about life that I would love to get his perspective on.
